Frequently Asked Questions
What is the price of one of your Maine coons?
Each kitten starts at $2,500.00.
Price depends on numerous factors. This includes the cost of medical, expenses for the kittens as well as annual health screening such as echocardiograms for the parents.
Payments are accepted through Zelle, Cash App and Paypal.
If there is a price increase it will be due to the increase of vet visits for shots, worming and overall health checks before going to their new homes.
We put what you pay back into the cattery to help ensure you receive a healthy kitten that will give a lifetime of love.
In some instances there can be a discount such as if there will be multiples going to the same home.
Is there a difference in cost for colors, sex or for any other reason?
There is no difference in cost of a kitten for specific colors or sex of the kitten.
In some instances there can be a difference in pricing for a kitten. It is dependent on whether or not the cat has a lineage that has grand champions from a parent or both parents are being shown.
The only other time there is difference in cost is if the kitten is being held back for breeding for another verified breeder.
How much will you accept to hold a kitten?
If you are wanting a kitten and we have them, then 20% is what we request to be paid to hold your kitten. We do not do a waiting list because the amount of kittens that are born is not guaranteed.
How many kittens do you have through out the year?
Even though each queen is different and the recuperation time is dependent on the overall health of the queen, we only breed our queens once a year. This way it allows their body time to recuperate from taking care of their babies and because of this my kittens are limited.
How do you choose a home for your kittens?
We are particular about who our babies go to. They are raised in our home and our handled by us and we grow to love them. We choose families that we hope will love them as much as we do through facetime conversations and phone calls.
What kind of health care will my kitten receive before getting the kitten?
Your kitten will be wormed and have two sets of shots. Your kitten will see the vet multiple times for health checks, which include testing for FELV/ FIV, getting rabies shots, and anything else the vet may deem as necessary. The kitten will also be microchipped.
Part of this is also having the breeding parents DNA checked and echocardiograms.
When can the kitten go home?
We will not send a kitten to their future home any sooner then 12 weeks of age. This is to ensure that the kitten is fundamentally sound physically and mentally. We will also have a vet review the kitten to ensure it is healthy enough to be sent to their new home.
Do you ship or will you meet someone with their new kitten?
We will be happy to drive and meet someone with their new kitten if it is within a reasonable distance. Unfortunately, I won't drive to South Carolina when we are in Arizona, but we are happy to help you find a courier to ensure your kitten makes it safely to you or another alternative shipping method.
What happens to the cats once they are retired?
When we decide to retire a cat, we look at rehoming them into homes were they are able to live out their best lives as pets. The cost for rehoming is the cost of the spay/ neuter and update of shots if they are due.
